Hi, I'm Paula and I'm from a small town on the west coast of Scotland called Ayr. It's best known for the beach but we don't often get the weather to enjoy it. Let's just say that being Scottish has definitely helped me to get used to the Cierzo!
My love of Spanish culture started when I was a kid and my parents took me on holiday all over the Iberian Peninsula. Later I studied Spanish(language and literature) and Art History at the University of St Andrews. It's probably more famous for the golf and Prince William (before you ask, I haven't met him!!) than for anything else.
My adventures in Zaragoza began in 2009 when I was lucky enough to work in one of the local secondary schools and I loved it so much that I set my heart on coming back here. Now the city has become my 'home from home'. Not to mention that it is the home of the greatest beer ever brewed, Ambar.
I love travelling and have made the most of the time I've spent here to see loads of different cities and towns. I especially loved Gijón and the Basque Country, I guess they remind me of home!
I'm a singer and bassist but I have some more unusual hobbies like being one of the few under 65's who plays Petanque. I also love painting, but don't expect Goya-esque diagrams in the classroom. As an avid skier one of my favourite places in Aragón is Formigal but I also love hill-walking. My most memorable experience is of the time I scaled El Moncayo, but I'm no expert! The next part of my Zaragozan adventure unfolds at Number 16 and I look forward to seeing you in class!
