TE ENSEÑAMOS A CONJUGAR CORRECTAMENTE LOS REPORTING VERBS

 

Hi students! 😀 ¿Conocéis los reporting verbs? Este tipo de verbos los utilizamos para dar información que ya han dado otras personas.

Queremos destacar que existen muchos reporting verbs ya que con ellos podemos mostrar nuestra perspectiva sobre esa información que ya ha sido dada anteriormente por otra persona.

A continuación, vamos a ver los reporting verbs más utilizados de cada tipo.

REPORTING VERBS DESDE UN PUNTO DE VISTA NEUTRAL

Cuando utilizamos este tipo de reporting verbs no indicamos si estamos de acuerdo o desacuerdo con la información.

DESCRIBES

“The professor described the parts of the human body.”

“She described the man as generous and humble.”

 

REPORTS

“The newsreader reported the crime with great detail.”

“The police reported the criminal.”

 

SATATES

“The government states that taxes should go down.”

“My friend states that he can drink 10 beers.”

 

MENTIONS

“My girlfriend mentioned going on a holiday.”

“I mentioned my parents in my speech.”

 

 

 

VERBOS INFORMATIVOS EN INGLÉS DE ACEPTACIÓN

Este tipo de reporting verbs los utilizamos cuando no hay duda de que lo que se dice es cierto.

ACCEPTS

“My children accepted their punishment.”

“When are you going to accept you’re not going to be famous?”

 

RECOGNISES

“The European Union recognised the financial crisis”

“The court recognised that the defendant was guilty.”

 

ADMITS

“I admitted I went to far with the joke.”

“Our teacher admitted the exam was too hard.”

 

SUPPORTS

“Our school supports the idea of speaking over writing.”

“My parents support my decisión of moving abroad.”

 

DE ACUERDO CON LA PERSPECTIVA

Los empleamos cuando estamos de acuerdo.

AGREES

“The students agreed on the exam being on Friday.”

“I had to agree with my brother on which movie to watch.”

 

SHOWS

“The news showed how bad the weather is.”

“The numbers show how expensive the electricity is.”

 

PROVES

“Once again, Messi proved he is the best.”

“I proved to you I was innocent.”

 

EXPLAINS

“This explains why you shouldn’t buy it before you try it.”

“My mum always explains her meals before we eat them.”

 

DESACUERDO CON LA PERSPECTIVA

Por último, los reporting verbs que utilizamos cuando estamos en desacuerdo con la información que nos hadado otra persona.

DISAGREES

“The students disagreed on where the school trip should be.”

“Javier always disagrees with everyone.”

 

DENIES

“Suspects always deny they are guilty.”

“I sometimes deny I’ve been out so my parents don’t question me.”

 

INSISTS

“He insisted on going somewhere else.”

“If you insist a lot, it makes you look guilty.”
