Srishti's blog!

Hola! I’m Srishti and I’m from London. It’s been 5 months since I arrived in Zaragoza and I’m having a great time! I’ve tasted the many wonderful varieties of tapas and love the Spanish culture. I grew up all over the world as my dad was in the British army. I’ve lived in many different countries such as Hong Kong, Nepal, Brunei, England, Wales and Malaysia. And so began my love of travelling. I found out that teaching English was a great way of experiencing different cultures while making some money, so I made the decision to pack my bags and go explore the world! I've been an English teacher for 4 years now. My first job was in exotic Indonesia on the island of Java. It was a great introduction to teaching English and I loved living there. Indonesians are really friendly and they love sweets! I consider myself extremely lucky to have had my first holiday on the beautiful island of Bali – it was only a 45 minute flight from where I lived. Afterwards I decided to explore more of Europe and began teaching in Bratislava, Slovakia. The city has many wonderful old buildings and they love to watch opera! They also have fantastic beer (cheap too!) and seem to love eating potatoes and cabbage…a LOT. Unfortunately the winters are extremely cold (-30 degrees Celsius on some days!) so I decided to move to Spain where I knew they had hot summers and milder winters! I’m finally settling into the Zaragoza way of life. I’ve found a gorgeous apartment, right in the centre of town with another teacher, Lucy. It’s been nice discovering the city and I fully intend to enjoy seeing all the sights!! See you in class!
